My 7 Month Old Bathing Beauty

For our 7 month photos, I stole this idea from my Sister-in-law Cheri. She just so happened to be coming up for a visit, so I had her bring her props. I decided to try the pictures myself, but since my lighting wasn't very good, I had to have her take some more. Mine are the sepia, b/w and color one with the white background. Cheri's are the ones with the black background. Olivia is quite that ham and loves taking photos.

The Seventh Month

My sweet little baby girl is always making me smile! Her smile lights up a room. She has such a fun personality, and it's been so much fun this month seeing more of it coming to life.
In the petunia beds in the front yard one morning.
This little link toy makes it look like she has a goat-t like daddy.
She refuses to sleep on her back anymore, so this is her normal sleeping pose. Notice the binky is far away. She doesn't really suck on it that much. Instead she puts it in and out of her mouth and makes noise. She's funny. After she's fallen asleep, I go in and take the little purple "lovey" blanket out. She likes to hold something when she is falling asleep, but I'm too afraid to put anything in her crib that could potentially block her airways. (Yes, I know, I am a freak show. I have been told that before, but I don't care.)
Trying her "smush binky" as we call it. Here she was eating watermelon. The smush binky isn't her favorite thing. I think she prefers "real" food.
Still loves taking showers with Daddy.
My new favorite place to bath her is in the sink. It's faster, and I don't have to bend over in the bath tub. Plus it takes a lot less water. She doesn't care where she's at as long as there is water involved. She loves to splash.
Our other bath option. This is more for playing, and less for cleaning.
Her newest thing is to roll over when she is getting a diaper change or a clean pair of clothes. She does not like to sit still. She is such a curious little bug.
Big brother teaching her how to play video games.
Big sister making her smile.
First swim in a real pool in Glenn's Ferry for the Owings Family Reunion.
My best friend Brandy came to see us for the weekend, and we went to Eagle Island to swim and enjoy the sunshine.
 My beautiful girl looking around.
Here she is splashing her momma. Her arms and legs never stop moving, especially in the water.
Brian and Caitlyn having fun with Olivia.
Grandma and Grandpa Owings got her this basketball jersey and it looks so cute on her.
Aunt Cheri and Paige came to visit. We were all supposed to go on a camp out but there have been terrible fires this summer, and the roads were closed. We stayed home instead and played at Eagle Island one day, and had dinner at Grandma's house.
 Cousins:  Hannah, Olivia, and Paige
Grandma Owings' rabbit, Sunflower. Olivia was just checking him out.
This month, not only did Olivia get her first cold, but she also got her first 2 teeth. They both came in the night before I had to give a Sacrament talk. Needless to say, neither one of us got much sleep that night. We had a long week of runny noses, and having to suck out the mucous which she hated. Thankfully it only lasted a week. (Thanks Caitlyn for passing along your sicky germs.)
 My sweet little princess.
I got a package in the mail, and decided to use this box as a toy. She loved it. She plays in it for a long time. It is always the cheap stuff that entertains them the most.

Time For a Change

Allie decided to cut her hair for a more grown up look. After all, she is going into 7th grade.
 Having second thoughts?
Oh my goodness, what have I done?

 Oh wait, that looks cute!
Look at all that hair.
The finished hairstyle looks so cute on her.

Allie Sings Her First Solo

Allie was asked to sing at the Stake Baptism on August 4th. She was accompanied by her Aunt Shelbie and sang Every Star is Different. She did beautifully, despite being very nervous. I hope to see more solos in the future. She is a great singer.

My 6 Month Old Vintage Diva

I saw a picture of this baby on a website and she had the cutest hair piece. Rather than paying $15 for it, I made my own. That inspired this photo. So I made her a tu tu and got her a little black top, and there you have it. I love these pictures.

The Sixth Month

This month there was lots of playing, and lots of new discoveries. Olivia found her toes! She loves to put her feet up in the air and sometimes taste her feet.
Sharing a moment on the floor with my littlest baby girl. She looks nothing like me. She is all daddy.
She really started to discover Anakin, our dog, and he is not really that excited about it. He likes to keep his distance, but she would love nothing more than to grab him. Caitlyn is teaching him to play "soft" with Olivia. He does pretty well, but only because he loves to play so much, and sometimes this is all he gets.
"Your Bug" is what we call this. The only time she gets this toy is in her car seat, and she loves it! She grabs this little bug and just sucks away on the wings. I'm not even sure what type of bug it is, but she doesn't care. She is entertained for quite awhile with this thing.
We were on our way home from Twin Falls for Brian's all-state football game, when he decided to sing. Poor Olivia apparently didn't like his tone or something because she just covered her ears and tried to ignore it. It was a very long day in the sun, and the car, so she was really, really tired.
After trying all the vegetables, she finally got to try her first fruit, peaches. She liked them, but not quite as much as the sweat peas.
Whenever Olivia is tired, and drinking her milk, she puts her hands over her eyes like this. She won't even try to hold her own bottle.
This moth, we moved her into a new bath thing, for lack of a better word. She kept trying to sit up, and was sliding all the way down on the old one, so it was time for something bigger. She didn't really care for it the first time, but now she likes it much better.
She was so tired on the 4th of July, so I lay her in her bed for a nap, and she grabbed her toes. She stayed like this for quite awhile. A friend told me this is the happy baby pose. She was probably happy to finally take a nap.
Since the weather has been in the 90's and above, we have taken the opportunity to play in her little swimming pool. We only stay out for about 5 minutes, but she loves it! She gets to splash around and enjoy the outdoors and warmth of the sun.
 So cool!
 Maybe a future swimmer?
One of my former young women showed me how to crochet these little barefoot sandals, and the neat part is I just clip on her hair clips and they can be worn with many different outfits.  A girl can never have too many accessories.
This month she started sitting up all by herself. One day we put her in this position and she just did it. Nadia had her hand out just in case she fell backwards, which she still does sometimes, especially when  she is excited. She loves to play with her toys in this new position. Next thing you know she'll be crawling away.
One day we went over to a friend's house. We were both pregnant at the same time. Our babies were both born early and a couple weeks apart. Olivia is older, but definitely not bigger. Olivia got to play with Brenner, which is her first experience with another baby. Aside from being really tired, and a little cranky, she did well.
I love this picture! He is checking her out, and she isn't paying any attention. Typical girl!
It was definitely time for a high chair. The bumbo worked well for a little bit, but she kept trying to get out of it. This way I can lock her in with the five point harness, and she can't go anywhere. This is also great for just hanging out in the kitchen while I am cooking. We found it on craigslist for only $35. Hopefully, the original, old fashioned, wooden one will get sanded, and stained, and we will be able to  use it for our future grandchildren. We've only had it for an entire year now, and it's still not done!
